On March 12, 2018, Dr. Rana Dajani was invited by collaborator Dr Dima Amso to give a talk at Brown University. The talk titled: Five Scarves: Doing the Impossible, If We

Can Reverse Cell Fate, Why Can’t We Redefine Success for Women?

Both scholars met three years ago in Jordan and collaborated on a research project The Impact of WLR on mental cognition in children, where they met and discussed the research results to date and future steps in the research collaboration between Brown University and We Love Reading.

The Collaboration between Dr Amso, an American Syrian neuroscientist/associate professor in the department cognitive linguistic and psychological science at Brown University, and Dr. Dajani, a Jordanian Scientist and and activist in children rights to read, is a chance to share knowledge and experience to help the current Syrian refugees in Jordanian camps.

This event was cosponsored by department of cognitive linguistic and psychological science and the center for middle east studies.

Also Dr. Amso, with several Brown colleagues, organized a mission to refugee camps in Jordan, where they offered guidance to front-line workers who are helping Syrian children.
Amso shared that experience through "Story in the Public Square" TV and radio show. while their stay in Jordan, they got more familiar with the We Love Reading program and it's positive effect it has on children brains and souls, as she stated.
