Entitled “To Gaza With Love”, the book was launched by Dr. Samina Salim, with an introduction written by Professor Rana Dajani, while all proceeds were dedicated to the We Love Reading program.
The launch took place in Houston, Texas, USA, on December 6, 2025, at the Trinity Episcopal Church. The event was attended by more than 100 guests and brought together readers, artists, faith leaders, and advocates for peace in a shared space of reflection and solidarity.

“To Gaza With Love” by Dr. Salim is an evocative collection of reflections, poetry, and art, exploring empathy, identity, and the moral responsibility of bearing witness in a fractured world. The book sheds light on human suffering in Gaza while honoring resilience and the enduring power of love. Dr. Salim says: “This book is born of grief and love; love for humanity and the unyielding spirit that refuses to be silenced. It is my humble offering to remember, to feel, and to hope.”
Dr. Samina Salim is a Houston-based author, scientist, and scholar whose work bridges research, reflection, and creative expression.
The introduction of the book was written by Professor Rana Dajani, founder of We Love Reading, a program that fosters literacy and community empowerment, strengthens the leadership of children and youth worldwide, promotes peace, and spreads the love of reading through a sustainable, flexible, and cost-efficient approach.
All proceeds from “To Gaza With Love” will be donated to We Love Reading, to support literacy and healing in refugee communities, particularly among Palestinian and Syrian children.
Through this collaboration, Dr. Samina Salim hopes to advance the vision of Scientists Without Borders, a global initiative dedicated to building peace and health equity through collaborative, trauma-informed science, while supporting the mission of We Love Reading in nurturing changemakers through reading.
