We concluded days that were filled with training and discussions. Our constant concern at We Love Reading is to reach children and readers who do not have enough opportunities for training and discussion about the future of reading, books, creating change in communities, and learning about inspiring stories and how far their impact has reached.
In the capital, Amman, we renewed our meeting in neighborhoods with our second training this year.
Over two days, the trainees received the most important theoretical and practical techniques for reading aloud and for pleasure. More than 25 trainees participated at the Asluha Thabet Association. Different groups were trained, including teachers, students, and entrepreneurs. They learned about the most important studies and research that measure reading rates around the world and our role in raising reading levels.
They received the information enthusiastically through the trainer Ghufran Abu Diyeh, and applied it on the first day by conducting a children’s reading session using the children’s books developed by the program, to talk about their experiences on the second day, which included practical application, observing best practices, and sharing constructive feedback with the trainer.

Samar Al-Zeer shared with us that the program’s books encouraged her children to read for the first time in Arabic and to read more than one book. She also said that the read-aloud experience was special, pointing out that choosing the right book is essential to planting the love of reading, according to her.
Meanwhile, Sarah Mouayad said that active participation with the trainer and the organization and arrangement of ideas were among the most beautiful parts of the training, and she called for spreading the training on a wider scale and delivering it to everyone due to its importance.
Maryam Eid stated that the program is crucial in our current time, and that she is willing to attend the training more than once due to its importance and the richness of its discussions, which motivate the ability to change, and the significance of the practical side that touches many aspects within an individual, especially the ability to drive change. The We Love Reading training comes every year as part of our continuous efforts to promote change in communities and meet the current stage’s needs by planting the love of reading for pleasure in the hearts of children.
It is worth mentioning that this project is funded by (The Korean Grant / Jordan Bridge Project 2025), which granted the We Love Reading program the UNESCO King Sejong Literacy Prize in 2017.
