We Love Reading organized a special session titled “Working with the Government to Foster Social Entrepreneurship” as part of Catalyst Change Week (CCW).
During this session, Her Excellency the Minister of Culture, Haifa Al-Najjar, and the We Love Reading Foundation’s founder, Rana Dajani, engaged in discussions about effective cooperation between the government and civil society to enhance social leadership. The national reading campaign, initiated by We Love Reading in collaboration with the Jordanian Ministry of Culture and under the auspices of Her Excellency Minister of Culture, Haifa Al-Najjar, was deliberated upon. This campaign aims to transform thinking patterns through reading, with the goal of nurturing change-makers. A website has been launched to promote reading for enjoyment and to train reading ambassadors to read aloud to children, aiding in program development. This is accompanied by a media campaign to encourage reading for pleasure.
Furthermore, a group of ambassadors was hosted, sharing their experiences of collaboration with the government through participation in interactive book fairs organized by the Ministry of Culture, in addition to their participation in the national We Love Reading campaign. These ambassadors were commended for conducting the largest number of read-aloud sessions for children in their neighborhoods and recording them on the platform.
