In 2025, Reading Ambassador Hanan Al-Nimer took part in a We Love Reading training supported by UNESCO. Following the training, she began turning what she had learned into practical initiatives that directly reach children in her community.
Hanan launched a reading campaign for children in schools across Russeifa and the surrounding areas, covering a number of public schools and UNRWA schools serving refugee communities. Through her initiative, she organizes reading sessions for children and distributes storybooks, helping bring books closer to them and creating enjoyable spaces that encourage reading and engagement with stories.
Her efforts have extended beyond reading sessions. Inspired by her experience with We Love Reading, Hanan became increasingly active in social and charitable work, particularly with children in associations, schools, and underserved communities, dedicating her time and energy to supporting children across different settings.
Hanan’s story reflects the core spirit of the We Love Reading model: the impact of training does not end when the training sessions are completed. Rather, it begins when Reading Ambassadors take initiative and transform what they have learned into continuous action that serves their communities.
We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Reading Ambassador Hanan Al-Nimer for her initiative, commitment, and continued efforts to promote a love of reading and community engagement, and for her dedication to reaching children in schools and communities.
