Prof. Rana Dajani, molecular biologist and founder of the We Love Reading program, participated in the 2025 Arab Conference at Harvard (ACH25), held in April at Harvard University in the United States. This annual conference, one of the most prominent student-led events focused on Arab world affairs, brought together a distinguished group of leaders and experts across diverse fields, including education, technology, entrepreneurship, public policy, community development, and science.
During the conference, Dajani shared her experience in founding the We Love Reading program, which works to build reading communities by empowering volunteers to establish neighborhood libraries and read aloud to children. The program has now expanded to over 70 countries around the world and has received numerous international awards.

Prof. Dajani currently serves as a Yidan Global Fellow at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and has research expertise in studying the psychological impact of trauma among refugees.
Her participation in ACH25 reflects the conference’s commitment to highlighting the integration of scientific research and grassroots community work. In light of the complex social and developmental challenges facing the Arab world and the globe at large, such platforms are essential for inspiring action, developing new strategies, and fostering collaboration across sectors.
