What makes Alaa Dyarbakirli’s reading sessions stand out is her unique ability to turn each story into a real-life adventure. For her, reading doesn’t end with the final page; instead, she brings the story to life, helping children carry its lessons into their world. With every book, she invents creative ways to turn stories into lasting behaviors and meaningful life lessons.
Alaa is a pharmacist with a deep passion for childhood and storytelling. As a We Love Reading ambassador, she finds reading to children both a refuge and a source of inspiration. She firmly believes in the power of stories to shape young minds, touch hearts, and support children’s mental and emotional well-being.
After reading the children’s book “Queen of Balloons”, she gave each child a balloon suited to their age and organized a water balloon game just like in the story. In another session, after reading “The Word Chef”, she guided the children through role-playing scenarios where they practiced using kind words like “Thank you very much,” “I’m sorry,” and “We’re friends.” To reinforce the message, she handed out sweets after each scene so the children could “taste” the beauty of kind words, just like in the story.
When she read “Earthquake in the Kitchen”, the children discussed the roles of parents and children in helping around the house, and shared how even 4- and 5-year-olds can contribute meaningfully at home.
Her message: “To pass on the true magic of childhood to future generations and nurture a love for adventure and discovery in their hearts.”
This is how Alaa transforms every reading session into a joyful, enriching experience, one where children not only listen and learn, but also fall in love with the world of books.
