Some of the recent updates about FIERCE research project which aims to measure the We Love Reading program impact on child literacy levels and their love for reading, and the relationship between the mother and the child:
On 15 December 2020. Dr. Kristin Hadfield the principal investigator of the project gave a talk about the FIERCE project at the Trinity Centre for Global Health research seminar series.
and the talk was entitled: Evaluating the development, implementation, and effects of an educational intervention in a humanitarian crisis context.
On 22 March. The UNICEF club at Trinity College Dublin held a series of events on the Syrian refugee crisis, given that it has been 10 years since the start of the war. Dr. Kristin gave a talk to their club
and the talk was entitled: Mental health of Syrian refugee children. It gave an overview of the situation and then focused on the FIERCE project and our work there.
On 07 April, Dr. Kristin attended a Poster Presentation at the Society for Research in Child Development,
a poster presentation displaying initial data on the reliability and validity of the love of reading and literacy measures which WLR using in the FIERCE project.
and the poster was entitled: Validating Arabic measures of love of reading for use with refugee children.
