We Love Reading reached Vietnam, thanks to a group of Vietnamese psychologists and educators in France. It all started by a skype meeting with Dr. Rana Dajani, where they expressed their excitement to participate in supporting WLR in Vietnam.
Huong Dang. Vietnamese educator, in France and in Vietnam. was a teacher and a lecturer in Vietnam for many years. Huong said: “Vietnamese children are intelligent and thirst for knowledge but nobody show or guide them how to reach knowledge. And I am very interested in developing of children’s reading skills, I strongly believe that “We love reading” will bring significant changes for Vietnamese children.”
As an ex member of the Union Executive of Faculty of Education, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Dang has many experiences about projects of children and education volunteer. Which will help in measuring the changes with psychometric tools to prove the strong and positive impacts of the project.
The Board of Directors of this nonprofit project in Vietnam brings together experts from the education sector who are currently working and researching in various countries such as France, the United States and Vietnam. They started with a team of 16 people, started a pilot phase with 30 ambassadors and 500 children, during 6 months. Their target is to reach 20,000 reading ambassadors, 20,000 libraries and benefiting 500,000 children 0f 4-10 in Vietnam.
