On behalf of the We Love Reading team and Professor Rana Dajani, we offer our condolences to our brothers and sisters in Palestine for the Israeli aggression against Gaza. Our emotions are indescribable in the face of their suffering during these challenging days, and we stand with them side by side in their steadfastness against the Israeli occupation’s latest onslaught.
What we have recently witnessed in Gaza is the result of the worsening humanitarian situation and the deprivation of people’s basic rights in terms of human dignity, education, and healthcare due to the occupation that has persisted for over half a century. The clear deterioration of the humanitarian situation has led to the current escalation of the situation.
Currently, Israel is bombing Gaza, where two million Palestinians live under Israeli siege. Israel cut off water, electricity, and fuel. 600 Palestinian children have been killed in the last seven days and the number is rapidly rising. We call on all organizations and international bodies to stand against these crimes against humanity and declare an end to this assault on Gaza and to Israel’s illegal apartheid and occupation.
