Taghyeer organization arranged a presentation in collaboration with Mercy Corps, the presentation was organized featuring anthropologist Delaney Glass to discuss her research and findings on hormones, puberty, and the psychological pressures faced by Jordanian and Syrian adolescents.
The event was held at the Mercy Corps office, attended by a group of interested parties and participants who were involved in the research whose results were discussed. The research was conducted from 2015 to 2018 with the support and collaboration of Taghyeer and Yale university and Mercy Corps as part of the Nubader project.
During the presentation, Dr. Glass discussed several scientific and academic aspects, as well as the research tools used. She also addressed topics such as early puberty and the relationship between nutrition and development affecting certain hormones in adolescents.


Dr. Glass pointed out that early puberty should not necessarily be viewed as a problem, in addition to discussing the associative factors within specific communities that impact adolescents.
Prof. Rana Dajani emphasized the importance of involving the research team and participants in the study’s results after years, praising their role in the project’s success. She also spoke about the methodology of Taghyeer in always resorting to neutral institutions to ensure the highest credibility of the study results.
The presentation was followed by a discussion session about the study and its results, where Dr. Glass indicated her intention to conduct future studies in the same field.
