We Love Reading founder Prof. Rana Dajani has participated in the “Social Justice Index” session during the Catalysing Change Week 2022 which was organized by Catalyst 2030 on May 11th.
The panelists Prof. Rana Dajani, Tariq Al-Olaimy: co-founder of 3BL Associates, Hatem Bazian: Co-founder and Professor of Islamic Law and Theology at Zaytuna College, and Jason Jacobs: Strategic Esports Entertainment LTD discussed the creation of a social justice index to support and advocate social justice within regions where populations are under a form of colonization and apartheid and injustice.
Prof. Rana said: “What we need in this exact moment of human history (think Palestine, Ukraine) is to develop a framework or measurement tool for social justice within organizations at the intersection of SDGs and rooted in systems thinking and transformation approach, oriented towards long-term change.”
Catalyzing Change Week (CCW) is the world’s largest event led by social innovators and entrepreneurs to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and accelerate collaborative systems change during more than 250 sessions and activities in a dedicated annual week.
Organized by Catalyst 2030, Catalysing Change Week 2022 built on the success of CCW2021, bringing together social entrepreneurs, representatives from the private sector, governments, funders and others involved in systems change, to inspire change in support of achieving the SDGs.
These models of best practice are in keeping with the recent findings of the Embracing Complexity and New Allies reports. The week served as an opportunity to engage, advocate and stimulate learning across the entire social entrepreneurship ecosystem.
