In Ajloun Governorate, Salwa Al-Ananzeh, a teacher and “We Love Reading” ambassador, continues to deliver reading sessions for children. She holds a master’s degree in Learning Difficulties, and after completing the program’s online training, she refined her storytelling techniques by incorporating expressive reading, as well as voice and movement tailored to different age groups.
In her sessions, she integrates interactive methods, including puppet theatre and shadow theatre, which enhance children’s engagement with the stories. This approach earned her second place in a puppet theatre competition an achievement that reflects how reading can become both an educational and creative practice.
Salwa takes her “reading kit” wherever children gather in large numbers, from parks to schools and cultural centers, with the aim of making reading accessible to as many children as possible. In one session, participation exceeded 300 children.
Speaking about the program, Salwa says: “The training and joining the We Love Reading program added a great deal to me both professionally and personally. It gave me a deeper understanding of children’s needs and how to foster their love of reading. It also strengthened my ability to use stories as an effective educational and developmental tool. Through these sessions, I felt that I was contributing to creating a real and lasting impact on children.”
She adds: “The program strengthened my confidence in my social and educational role and made me feel proud and fulfilled to be part of an initiative that supports a generation of readers who value knowledge.”
In Salwa Al-Ananzeh’s experience, the story becomes a space for imagination…
and the child becomes a reader discovering the world anew.
